Looking for a Computer Repair Degree?

Computer-repair technicians maintain and repair computers, scanners, and other computer equipment.  They run diagnostic programs and use special testing equipment to find out why a computer isn’t working. With millions of computers out there, there are millions of opportunities for computer repair technicians. 

When you go to school to become a computer repair technician, you will learn how PCs function, how to troubleshoot problems with printers, modems, and other equipment, as well as how to install software.

Many computer programming schools offer certificate programs, associates degrees and bachelor degrees in computer repair.  These will vary by school vary, but in most cases programs will offer study in PC maintenance and servicing, DOS, UNIX OS, Windows, and NT/2000.  You might also have courses in software troubleshooting and network administration.

This training will prepare you for the A+ certification test that certifies the competency of PC repair technicians. This certification is vital to employers as it says that you are a qualified computer repair technician. 

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the average hourly wage in 2006 for computer, and office-machine technicians was $18.29. degree information coming!
