Information Systems Security Courses
We’ve discussed Information Technology degrees in prior posts. In order to prepare, you need your bachelor’s degree in a computer-related field. Many companies also require that you earn your master’s degree in business with a technology emphasis, reflecting the growing management and business responsibilities of information systems managers. Typical courses in information systems include business data management, information systems design, Internet technologies, financial accounting, risk management, and strategic management.

Graduates of the Information Systems Security program in the School of Information Technology at ITT Tech will have a credential that can help them pursue career opportunities in a variety of entry-level positions involving information systems security, some of which may include: security professionals as part of software development and information technology infrastructure teams; security technicians working with Internet service providers, application service providers and systems integrators; and security auditors. Rather than teach only the business or strategic planning side of information systems security, ITT Tech’s program covers both management and technical aspects of this field. These are the kinds of skills that can be valuable in today’s digital marketplace.
Graduates of this program may begin their careers in a variety of entry-level positions involving information systems security, such as network/security administrators or security systems technologists. These positions are typically part of a team working on projects that require designing, configuring, implementing and maintaining security solutions as part of IT infrastructure projects. In other roles, graduates may be part of teams involved in auditing and verifying existing security systems and suggesting ways to improve the same.
