Did you know that Oracle skills remain the most sought after database skill in the IT marketplace?

The Oracle Database is a relational database management system software product released by Oracle Corporation and has become a major factor in database computing.

Oracle’s 9i OCA (Oracle Certified Associate) DBA (Database Administrator) certification is for “apprentice skill level” IT professionals. Oracle 9i OCA was introduced in late 2001, and requires no specific prerequisite. Having experience in SQL and database operations would be helpful however.

This certification is well suited to IT personnel, with titles such as database administrator, database analyst, and database developer. The Oracle 9i OCA designation is achieved by passing several exams. You must first earn the Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) credential on your desired track (such as Oracle9i). For Oracle 9i you must then pass: Oracle9i Database Fundamentals II, and Oracle9i Database Performance Tuning.

There are continuing requirements with your Oracle certification as well. Oracle will periodically announce requirements for recertification based on the release of new products and upgrades. You have 6 months after the announcement to re-certify.

The expertise of today’s Oracle database administrators is integral to the success of today’s complex system environments. The work of these databases requires a broad understanding of the architecture and process of the Oracle database.

It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that if you earn training in the world’s most used hardware and software applications, the sky’s the limit for employment opportunities. Earning your Microsoft certification is an ideal way to immerse yourself in the versatile computer suite that has the world moving and working.

Microsoft Madness
Microsoft is perhaps the most recognized name in the computer industry. From the Microsoft Office Suite for end users to the Microsoft database network for information technology, this is a solid company with untold growth potential. And because the Microsoft name is such an integral part of our cyber culture, it is one of the only proprietary certifications recognized by the computer industry. And the best part is, you can earn this valuable certification in any area of the industry that most fascinates you. You’ll benefit from studying in the niche that you’re passionate about.

Microsoft Certifications
The possibilities are endless when you prepare for a career in Microsoft development. Here are just a few of the exciting areas that you can earn training:
• Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS)
• Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP)
• Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD)
• Microsoft Certified Architect Program
• Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST)
• Microsoft Certified Learning Consultant (MCLC)

Salary Potential
The salary potential for Microsoft certified professionals vary widely by experience level and employer. As with any field, the more training and education you receive in your particular niche, the higher your salary will be. Another way to increase your salary is to become a freelance consultant for Microsoft products. You can market your expertise to employers that will pay nice hourly rates for project design and implementation. As a freelance professional, you’ll have the advantage of setting your own working schedule as well as your per hour fee.

Are you interested in computers and networking? Do you want to find a high-paying job with regular hours? If so, you should look into becoming an information technologist.

Computer Science Degrees
To become an IT professional, you’re going to need some basic training. Many companies look for applicants with bachelor’s degrees in computer science. More advanced degrees can also be helpful.

In today’s market, holding a number of computer science degrees won’t land you a job unless you can show employers that you are proficient in network installation, configuration, diagnosing, and preventive maintenance for large computer systems. Employers want to hire someone they don’t have to train extensively so that they can save time and money. Since many corporate IT networks operate in similar environments, employers know that those with relevant IT experience should have the general knowledge necessary to step into a new IT job with minimal training.

A+ Training and Certification
If you haven’t had that kind of training on the job, you’ll have to get it through a certification process. A+ training and certification is a certification program that many employers require from applicants. Those that pass an A+ training and certification program have proven to an instructor that they have learned all of the basic IT skills necessary to get an entry-level IT job.

Because A+ training and certification programs are recognized by so many employers, you can generally find them offered in a city near you. If not, A+ training and certification programs are definitely offered online, so that you can build your IT resume and associated skills from the comforts of your own home.

Once you are armed with your computer degrees and your A+ training and certification, you should be able to find a number of great paying jobs throughout the country.

If you want to work in the IT industry, there’s a good chance you’re going to need some Cisco Training. Cisco is a company that makes products integral to corporate networking, like routers, switches, network security, network storage, etc.

Because Cisco’s products are used by so many companies, Cisco has developed certain certification programs that help employers identify the skills of potential job applicants. Cisco training certifications are often divided up into different categories, and various schools are licensed to teach these certification programs by Cisco.

Associate Cisco Training
Associate Cisco training is intended for more entry level positions. The certification programs that fall into this level include CCNA and CCDA certifications. Earning these certifications shows employers that you have the basic IT and networking skills to handle entry level IT work. These certifications programs are often offered online by distance learning schools.

Professional Cisco Training
The main difference between professional and associate Cisco training certifications is responsibility. Professional certifications, like the CCNP, or the CCIP, for example, test IT professional to make sure they can fix more complex issues in their particular networking field. Many professional track Cisco training certifications are also offered from online schools.

Expert Cisco Training
There is a CCIE examination offered in the different IT subfields, including network security, voice, and storage, among others. This expert certification requires applicants to pass a written examination before traveling to Cisco and enduring an 8 hour lab examination. Cisco doesn’t allow partner schools to administer this certification.

If you need one of these Cisco certifications to advance your career, check any one of these online technology schools.
